
JOHOR BAHRU (Oct 26): South-east Asia’s first indoor Angry Birds Activity Park at KOMTAR Johor Bahru City Centre (JBCC) mall will open its doors to the public on 31 October 2014.
The indoor activity park offers 26,000 square feet of exciting fun-packed games, activities and entertainment. The attractions are segmented for kids, youth and younger kids and toddlers, challenging their motor skills, cognitive skills, body control and speed reaction.
The kids will enjoy the Red Bird Sona interactive playground, Lazer Maze Spaceship, Classic Tower Play, GO! Kart and Anti-Gravity Trampolines. The youth will be thrilled by the Lazer Bird Shoot, Space Drop Airbag, Panna Soccer, Red Bird Goal and Air Parkour Track. The fun continues for younger kids and toddlers in the Spinning Time Machine, Piggy Shooting Gallery, Captain Black Bird Ship and Sand Castle Ball Pit.
Children can enjoy all these exciting games and activities the price of RM75 per entry while the price for MyKad or MyKid holders is RM60. There are various ticket options from single entry to family passes as well as unlimited annual passes and schoold groups (minimum of 30 pax). Children can also celebrate their birthdays with your favourite Angry Birds’ birthday packages.
Today a media preview event was officiated by Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, JCorp President and Chief Executive. Rovio Entertainment Ltd’s Director of Sales and Relationships, Jonna Nummela and Damansara Asset Sdn Bhd’s Executive Director, Yusaini Hj Sidek and Datin Noor Laila Yahaya, Pengerusi, Mutiara Johor Corporation were also present.
Yusaini said the theme park is a joint venture with the founder of the Angry Birds game, Rovio Entertainment Ltd, which is based in Finland. “The Angry Birds characters are well-known among all age groups worldwide. Fans in Malaysia and neighbouring countries can now immerse themselves in the world of Angry Birds through fun entertainment that encourages physical and educational activities at KOMTAR JBCC.”
“ The indoor theme park will also be a place where the entire family can interact and have an enjoyable experience together. We expect the theme park to be a major attraction and to complement the other leisure, shopping and dining attractions offered in KOMTAR JBCC,” he said.
According to Jonna Nummela, this park will be the fifth in a series of activity parks around the world and Rovio Entertainment is delighted that this new indoor activity park will be located in South -East Asia’s Johor Bharu.

Rovio, a Global Entertainment Media company released the Angry Birds game in December 2009 which have since become hugely popular worldwide.
The indoor activity park will be located on the third floor of KOMTAR JBCC. The opening hours are from 10 am to 10 pm daily. As a safety precaution, children below 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the park.
There are security cameras installed at various locations in the park. Other services include shoe cabinets and locker on rental basis, complimentary wheelchairs upon request at the front desk on a first-come first-served basis, trained first-aid personnel, disabled-friendly facilities, and lost-and-found services.
The activity park will also provide a fun environment where the entire family, parents and children, can interact and have an enjoyable and thrilling experience together. It also can strengthen family ties by enabling children and parents to play together.
